The most stunning sunset I have ever seen – Lake Pukaki, New Zealand. Photo of the week.

I have just got back from a week-long job that saw me spending time at Lake Pukaki, amongst other south island scenic hot-spots. Whilst at Lake Pukaki I witnessed one of the most stunning sunsets I have ever seen. Below is one of the panoramas I took of the high-point of the sunset. This photo was taken on my iPhone 4s and stitched to a panorama and edited in-camera (in-phone?).

Once upon a time I would never even bother taking photos with a phone because the quality was so poor I always used to end up deleting the photos afterwards. Nowadays however it is a different story.

Anyway, this post is not about technology or equipment, rather it is about how beautiful this country we call home is and how lucky we are to live here. It’s also a reminder to us to keep our eyes open (and our phone/camera close at hand) – beauty is all around us, and if we take it for granted we will miss out on all those brief, beautiful moments like this sunset. I hope you enjoy looking at this photo as much as I do! Take care, Patrick
