Laughter-filled and fun High Country Wedding – Lauren & Trav / Fallon Photography

Lauren & Trav’s fun NZ High Country Wedding was indeed a “fun relaxed party” which was just what they wanted from their wedding day.

Lauren & Travis were surrounded by friends and family who adored them and Mike and Sam and the team at NZ High Country and all the other wedding pros involved (see below for all the vendors involved) worked their butts off and made the day run smoothly and stress-free for them. And I reckon that’s the way your wedding day should be – relaxed, natural and fun! Here’s how it went down…

Lauren & Travis are from Canberra, Australia. They decided to get married at NZ High Country in Queenstown because they both love the mountains and are active people, Queenstown is the ultimate mountain playground and NZ High Country is the ultimate Queenstown mountain-top wedding venue.

The girls were getting ready at Alpine Lakeside Apartments and the boys were getting ready nearby at 22 Highview Terrace by Touch of Spice (you can book via booking.com)

NZ High Country is a mountain-top venue located in Frankton, Queenstown.  I have shot a number of nz high country weddings & events over the years and this venue, it’s amazing views (not to mention the incredible food and wine!) never disappoints.  There is a gravel farm-road that climbs several hundred metres to their Lake June Marquee reception venue, a permanent Stella event structure.

If you look really really really really hard you can spot the little white dot halfway up the mountain – that is the NZ High Country Lake June Marquee.

A couple of hundred metres higher again is their Tussock Point ceremony venue.

(Chances are that any epic wedding ceremony photos you have seen from NZ High Country were taken from here.  It offers wide panoramic views over Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains)

When I arrived at Tussock Point, the weather was windy and cold but beautiful.

There are so many beautiful details and moments from Lauren and Trav’s NZ High Country Wedding, I’m going to let the photos do the talking from here.

But a few of my favourite moments from the day were;

  • Lauren’s wild, unabashed laughter clearly audible from the Remarkable Experience bus as they drove up the mountain road to the ceremony location
  • Also her wild laughter when she nearly lost it during the ceremony
  • When she apologised for having to take her veil off cause of the wind.
  • The boys smoking cuban cigars outside at the reception
  • Lawn games that got super competitive
    LA Social rocked the party
Lauren’s wild laughter as Neville from Remarkable Experience drove them up the final steep hill to their NZ High Country wedding venue. (I know it looks like the Remarkable Experience bus is leaving, but this is the final downhill before the final uphill on the way up to Tussock Point).

Lauren’s wild laughter (again) when she nearly totally lost it (a couple of times) during the ceremony.

When Lauren turned and apologised to the wedding party for having to take her veil off partway through the ceremony because of the wind pulling at it.

The world’s most competitive lawn games

The doughnut wall.   Mmmmmm, donuts…

And this moment.

Anyway, you get the idea – Lauren & Trav’s fun NZ High Country was epic and a total blast.  See below for a list of vendors and a short gallery of images from the day.

Venues & Vendors for NZ High Country Weddings & Events

For more info about NZ High Country Weddings & Events, please get in touch with NZ High Country here.   The team at NZ High Country are awesome and will bend over backwards to make your dream Queenstown wedding a reality.  And believe it or not, there simply aren’t many (if any) other Queenstown Wedding Venues that are located on a mountain-top with stunning views like NZ High Country!  (The only other spot i can think of that even comes close is Skyline Restaurant & Gondola and there you have to have your ceremony indoors as there is not enough space for an outdoor ceremony).

Bonus: You might want to check out this blog post I wrote about Shelle & Greg’s NZ High Country Elopement for more NZ High Country Weddings & Events images and inspo.
